Terms of Service

Effective October 27, 2026

1. Who we are

Foodio ("Foodio", "we", "us") is an app for sharing meals you cook and eat out. These Terms are an agreement between you and Matthew Lee. By creating an account or using Foodio, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Who can use Foodio

You must be at least 16 years old. You must give accurate sign-up information and keep your password secure, and you're responsible for activity on your account. You may not use Foodio if we've previously suspended you or if the law prohibits it.

3. Your content

You own the photos, text, ratings, recipes and comments you post ("your content"). To run Foodio, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt (for example, resize or compress photos) and distribute your content within Foodio and in links you choose to share. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except that copies may take a short time to clear from backups, and content others already shared stays where they shared it. You confirm you have the rights to what you post. For example, don't post someone else's photo, or a recipe you copied word for word, without permission.

4. Who sees your content

Public accounts' meals can be seen by anyone on Foodio. Private accounts' meals can only be seen by followers you approve. Comments and replies are visible to anyone who can see the meal. Things you share outside Foodio are no longer controlled by these settings.

5. Community rules

Don't use Foodio to:

6. Food content

Ratings, reviews, recipes and ingredient lists are users' personal opinions and information, not ours. We don't check them for accuracy, safety, allergens or nutrition. Cook and eat at your own risk, and check ingredients yourself if you have allergies or dietary needs. Reviews of restaurants must reflect your honest experience.

7. Reporting, removal and suspension

You can report meals, comments and accounts, and block anyone. We may remove content, or suspend or terminate accounts, that break these Terms or put others at risk, with or without notice. If you think we made a mistake, email us. We don't review content before it's posted and aren't responsible for what users post.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Account > Delete Account. This permanently deletes your profile, meals, photos, comments, likes and follows.

9. Foodio's property

The Foodio app, name, logo and design belong to us. You may not copy or reuse them without permission, except to share content through the app's share features.

10. Changes

We may update Foodio, and change or stop features. We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Foodio after that means you accept the new Terms.

11. Disclaimers

Foodio is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free or secure, or that content on it is accurate.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of Foodio. Our total liability for any claim is limited to $100 USD. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

13. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of your content or your breach of these Terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs, to the extent the law allows.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Pasco County, Florida, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.

15. Apple

If you downloaded Foodio from the App Store, these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Foodio or its support, and Apple's standard end-user licence terms also apply.
